Atul Agnihotri has procured the remake rights for the Malayalam hit Bodyguard and the buzz is that he’s set aside a part of the budget to rope in Deepika Padukone to play the female lead opposite Salman Khan. As yet, there isn’t confirmation from Deepika on whether she’s taking the role or not.
This remake will be produced by Atul and directed by Malayalam director Siddique, who was the director of the original film. Ever since Wanted earned box office success, Salman has been keener on doing remakes of South Indian hit films. Shooting on Bodyguard will start on December 6 in Ranikhet.
