| Vineeth turns director

Noted Malayalam playback singer and actor Vineeth Sreenivasan (son of veteran actor-director-writer Sreenivasan) will debut as director soon with a movie produced by actor Dileep's banner Grand Productions. Vineeth has reportedly scripted himself for this movie, which is likely to star Dileep in the lead role. More details are awaited.
Vineeth's entrance in Malayalam cinema as a singer was in 2003, when he sang 'Kasavinte Thattamittu' for Mohanlal starrer Kilichundan Mampazham. Though the song did not become famous, his second song 'Karale Karalinte' from Udayananu Tharam (2005) became a mega hit, including him among the promising young singers of the day. Notably, in 'Karale Karalinte', Vineeth lend his voice for his father Sreenivasan.

Three years later, Vineeth surprisingly made his first step into acting with super hit Cycle (2008), followed by Makante Achchan (2009), a light-hearted comedy which captured media attention for a long time during its making, as Vineeth was sharing screen space with his father. 30 years earlier, Malayalam evergreen hero Prem Nazir and his son Shanawaz had teamed up together for a film.
