| I love Devi as a friend: Mamtha

Mamtha Mohandas was recently in the news for her alleged relationship with music director Devi Sri Prasad. Is it true?
“He gave me my first break in playback singing, but our relationship is not entirely professional. I love him as a close buddy. He’s so full of energy — a mini explosive. And so am I. So, when two explosives get together, there’s bound to be an explosion,” says the actress, who’s made it big in the Malayalam and Telugu film industries.
Soon, it might be the case in the Tamil industry, too. Mamtha’s landed the female lead in Ameer’s next directorial, Aadhi Bhagavan with Jayam Ravi. “I will sign on the dotted line in a couple of days,” she says.

But Aadhi Bhagavan, she adds, is not a serious film. “It’s a love story, but I only know that I play a modern NRI girl. I will join the team in September,” says the actress.
Apart from Aadhi Bhagavan, Mamtha has her hands full with Mollywood projects. She’s basking in the success of Kadha Thudarunnu, directed by Sathyan Anthikadu. Now, there’s Anwar with Prithviraj and Prakash Rai. “I’m also working on a short film with Indrajith for director Vinod. This is the first time I’m working on an art film,” she reveals.
