Asin’s tryst with Bollywood has been a roller-coaster ride so far, what with ‘Ghajini’ sky-rocketing her to fame and ‘London Dreams’ bringing her back to ground zero. Unfortunately before she could even give Bollywood another chance, she was dropped out of Vipul Shah’s Bollywood version of ‘Khaka Khaka’, which has John Abraham donning the rough, austere Suriya’s role.
The filmmakers had to say that she was dropped out of the project because her role was very similar to that played by her in ‘Ghajini’. Even so, certain insiders declared that she was out of the movie, because John Abraham did not want to romance her, on the 70 mm screen! The actor, quite patently deemed it the usual Bollywood fiddle-faddle.
Unlucky Asin also lost out on an opportunity to work with Anurag Basu, in his next project Silence starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, because the crew felt she wasn’t tall enough for the role.
