Veteran director Siddhique's forthcoming Dileep-Nayantara starrer Bodyguard, earlier slated for July 4 release, has been postponed to Ramzan. Producer Johnny Sagariga said the film was rescheduled as the shoot has been delayed due to various reasons, including MACTA workers staging a strike on the Bodyguard location.
Contradictorily, some sources revealed that Bodyguard drags as theatre owners, who lost money on Dileep's previous film Moz & Cat directed by Fazil, are refusing funds. Scripted by the director himself, Bodyguard is the first Siddique-directed film starring Dileep.

According to the director, Bodyguard is a typical fun movie with lots of emotion and moves like a thriller. Also in the cast are Mithra, Undapakru, Janardhanan, Zeenat, Appahaja, Nandu, Seema G. Nair, Harisree Asokan, Anil Murali, Cochin Haneefa, Balachandran Chullikad and others.
The film has five songs tuned by Ousepachan. Lyrics are by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri, while Ananthakkuttan deals with cinematography.
