Asin to be banned?

AsinThe Tamil cine actors association is very serious this time about punishing absentees at one of their recently-held protests. SIAA (South Indian Artistes Association), which is the main governing body for Tamil cine actors, organized a one-day token fast and protest against the Hogenakkal water issue. Almost the entire film industry had turned up for it. Nayantara too was present and so was the other leading actress Trisha . Notable among the absentees was Asin.

After the protest, the president of SIAA, Sharat Kumar issued a showcause notice to all the members who were absent. They were asked to give the reason why they weren’t present on the day of the fast. If SIAA wasn’t convinced about the seriousness of the reasons, they would be banned.

Mumtaz, who was absent on the day, said that she was not feeling well at all. SIAA has accepted her explanation. But it looks as if Asin is going to get herself in big trouble because she didn’t actually revert with an explanation. Rumors are on that she might be banned from Tamil cinema for a long duration. Other actors and actresses on the list include Radhika Sharatkumar and Napoleon.
